I found out yesterday at a Syndicate costuming workshop that Kenn, the guy who rode down to Birmingham with me for it, was almost an extra in "Newsies."

He was on a studio tour one day while they were filming. The tour stopped and the guide asked if anyone wanted to be an extra in whatever scene they were shooting at that moment. Kenn raised his hand, but was 11th. (They only needed 10.)

Jared Leto's band, 30 Seconds to Mars, is actually pretty cool. Typically actors turned musicians or musicians turned actors aren't that great, but this is an exception. I'm pretty impressed.

Mood: enthralled.
Dad woke me up early this morning (well, earlier than I normally get up) to tell me that it snowed overnight! The last time snow was in the forecast, a few weeks ago, all it did was flurry. This time, we weren't supposed to get more than the odd snowflake. Ha. *adores it when things like that happen*

Unfortunatly, I still had to go to work.

Without a doubt, the second worst hair style I've gotten. And not because of me. She decided I needed more than just the little five inches I asked for, making my once hip-length hair now well above my elbow, and instead of natural-looking red highlights, blonde. Because after all, this is the South, and every female aspires to be blonde. Yeah, right.

What to do? Hide the highlights under what remains of my hair, and pray it grows back fast.

My little brother voluntarily watched a movie with me, of his choosing. What did he pick? "Newsies." Of course, he made his own MST3k-like comments during it, and made up songs about being in musicals, but still. He picked that to watch all on his own.

Okay, so, I haven't posted here in ages. *grins and looks around* I like the stars; they're cute. Okay, so, today I was bad. *stayed home from church* Nobody woke up, which is odd, 'cause we always go to church. But then, we're used to going at 11. Church starts at 9 this year, so it's two hours earlier we all have to get up. The Relief Society chorister brought over my playlist for the year yesterday, while I was at work. *rolls her eyes* As soon as I got home yesterday, I had to turn around and go right back out again. It was my daddy's birthday. *pats him* He's 45 now. But that's besides the point. The point is, I didn't have time to practice my songs, and I woke up at 10:30. Relief Society starts at 11. Which meant I would have only had a half hour to learn two songs, shower, get all dressed up, do my hair and my makeup, and book it to the church. *snorts* Riiiiiight. So, yeah. We all skipped out on it today. *hides* Anyway. *looks around* This probably should have gone in my personal journal, huh? Oh, well. *grins and runs away*

Ah, what fun this week has been. "Disagreement" on the nv leaders list. First week of classes. And car trouble, meaning we have to get a new car in the family soon.

But, I've gotten to chat with both Crashie and Spit, plus a Royalty group AIM discussion the other night. And I managed to install Zeus on Ouisa, without Elaine disapproving, so I can now play computer games all day at work if I want. Although Wednesday is the only full day I work this semester. Joy!

Off to conquer the known world, circa 1127 BC.

Hi. I am new to live journal. spitc1899 introduced me to the site and i thought it was totally cool. Right now I am attending college with spitc1899 and so far it is going pretty well but right now I'm feeling al little hungry. Both spitc1899 and I are English together and we are studying for our first assignment. Sorry I have to cut this short but we are going to dinner because we are starving.

So. Taking part in NaNoWriMo 2001. Have written less than 1,000 words so far (about 9,000 behind schedule), but have developed my little fledgling country of Zondervan into a real kind of setting instead of just a bunch of place names.

In Books-A-Dozen tonight, I was struck with inspiration: write a novel set during the strike! I don't have to do much background research/development except that of my characters, and it's something I'm interested in, and know well enough to not get stuck on points like "What do Zondervan houses look like?" or "What's the climate?"

Now all I have to do is write 2,500+ words every day for the rest of the month.

I now have the Coca-Cola "Live the Magic" commercial on CD-RW. Yay. That's, like, my favorite commercial. *pets reading and books* A bunch of other trailers/teasers/tv spots, too, from here. So now I can spend hours on end watching the same movie clips over and over and over and over.... Obsessed? No, not me, uh-uh, no way. *goes to work on Shakespeare's Muse*

Downloading all the Harry Potter trailers and teasers, and buring them onto a CD to have for all time. While dreaming up ideas for NaNo WriMo (see bute about it). Ah, I love this job. Today, at least.

You know, so it fits the theme.

Milo just looked lonely. I'd get him a Neopet, but since he's a journal, he'd probably not be able to win Neopoints in the games. *hugs Milo* *loves him anyway*

I wrote stuff today. It's not typed yet, but it's for the Union. *beams in her amazing initiativeness* I wrote stuff for Staten. And thought about Brooklyn and Harlem a little, since I haven't been doing much for either one lately. And then started picking characters to kill. *mwahahahas* *but has way too much to do this semester and needs to get rid of people* *is sad now*

I think I'll stop depressing poor Milo. *gives him a journal-biscuit and wanders away*

Wedgewood sky, prefect green foilage, gumbo so thick you can eat it with a fork. And I can't enjoy it as much because I'm getting sick and trying to finish a presentation due tonight in class. How fun.

I get paid to do fun things like this all morning: http://www.cullmanoktoberfest.com. (The old version was really yucky and blah and boring, and I can say that because I did it.) I'm thrilled that it turned out like I had planned. Not bad for something doodled during a church voters' assembly. *laugh*

The rest of my morning has been spent answering the phone, reading Part 2 Henry IV, avoiding Kafka's The Trial (which is good, just... despairing), and poking around the internet.

Forecast for the afternoon: More of the same.

"lost my hearing long ago
from the media bombs going off in my living room ...

nobody tells the truth
I'm going deaf ...

I'm tired of all the violence
we've lost lives enough ...

I don't trust the politicians ...
and I'm tired of fighting all these inner and outer wars
I've got bullets in my head
I've got blood in my ears
and the world could drown from the truth that's in my tears ..."

I don't actually feel worthy to post to Milo, because Ver's really the only one who posts to him, and...she's the Crown Princess of Sweden, among other admirable things. And yet I'm posting anyway. *has absolutely nothing to say* Except: the VMAs were lame, and I'm still disappointed over them. The only funny minutes were in the pre-show when Mick Jagger had to sit next to Britney Spears, when Will Smith pretended to mistake Jamie Foxx with every black guy in show biz, Julia Stiles and Chris Kattan's interpretive dance, and when Dream, Jessica Simpson, and Mandy Moore were talking about Mariah Carey's "Rainbow" album being their inspiration back in the day. Heck yeah, that was a long time ago.
